GLR: Hello Eva! Please tell us a bit more about yourself!

I am based in Sofia, Bulgaria where I was born and raised. I fell in love with coaching and started my coaching practice 9 years ago after 10 years in marketing and advertising. I started as a life coach and back then there were no other life coaches in Bulgaria. There were only business and executive coaches so I consider myself the first life coach in my country.

Later on, I chose to focus on dating and relationships and added matchmaking to the services I offer. Now there are many life coaches here but I am still the only love coach and matchmaker in Bulgaria!

I don’t believe in matchmaking without coaching. That’s why I offer matchmaking services only as part of my coaching program for singles. I believe that single people are single for a reason and the reason is not that they just haven’t met the right person yet!

GLR: What led you to feel that you wanted to pursue a career helping singles?

What initially inspired me to learn more about relationships and why some of them don’t work, was my personal experience. It all started with me observing the dysfunctional relationship between my parents and escalated in my personal love life.

After many relationships that didn’t lead to what I was hoping for, I decided to dedicate all my time and energy to figure out how to stop repeating the same patterns again and again and learn to be happy no matter if I am in a relationship or not.

I figured it out and I couldn’t help but share what I learned with single people who are struggling with falling in love with themselves and attracting lasting love.

GLR: Any unique stories about working in this industry? Please share!

Many people get surprised when I share that I introduced my ex-partner to his current partner! She came to one of my coaching events and we became friends. We went on a trip out of town together and I felt that she might be a good match for my ex.

After I introduced them they proved me right. They have a child together now and we’re planning to build a house last time I was in contact with her. After this successful introduction, I decided to add matchmaking services to my coaching program for singles.

Another interesting story is that my father was my first coaching client. He and my mom got divorced when I was in high school and since then he had many dysfunctional relationships. I taught him how to use online dating (he is in his 70s) and that’s how he met his current partner. It turned out that they were dating when they were in their 20s and re-connected on a dating website 50 years later 🙂

GLR: How do you keep going when you’re facing challenges?

My strong sense of purpose and mission together with Abraham Hicks’ teachings about the law of attraction is what keeps me going. I listen to Abraham Hicks’ recordings almost every day and they help me sustain high vibration.

I also follow some badass coaches like Evan Marc Katz and Marni Battista who help me stay focused on my mission to bring people together and help them have more love in their lives!

GLR: What’s the best advice you’ve ever gotten that has helped you in your career in the Dating Industry?

When I was just starting coaching I was afraid that I might do something wrong and harm someone instead of helping them.

Then I remembered something Menis Yousry said at a personal development seminar I attended: ‘People don’t do anything they don’t want to do. So no matter what you tell them, they will only do what they want to do.’ This helped me realize that I can’t make anyone do anything they don’t want to do and I am not responsible for my clients’ choices. This is such a relief, isn’t it? 🙂

GLR: Do you have any words of encouragement or reminders for fellow Matchmakers, Dating Coaches & newcomers?

You will probably face challenges like tough clients, self-doubt, inconsistent income and other discouraging stuff. You might even be on the verge of quitting. I myself was on several occasions. But if you are clear about your mission – why you are doing what you are doing in the first place, and your why is strong enough, it will keep you going when you face challenges!

GLR: What are some of your personal & work best practices?

I believe in radical honesty, transparency, and authenticity.
I believe also that the best way to meet new people is while having fun. That’s why we organize fun events for singles like Cooking Classes for singles, Dixit Board Games for singles, Team Building Games for singles, Yoga for Singles, Online Speed Dating, etc.

GLR: Thanks, Eva! Last question – What is your experience when it comes to collaborating with other matchmakers and dating coaches?

I have collaborated with several matchmakers, both for myself and for my clients. For different reasons our collaboration didn’t go beyond introductions and didn’t lead to dates though. I am open to all kinds of collaboration!

My favorite is a peer to peer coaching. I have exchanged coaching sessions with coaches from all over the world and loved it. I find it very enriching, helpful, and heart-warming. Let’s exchange a coaching session and support each other!
