Global Love Report – April 30th, 2025
In the exclusive world of elite matchmaking, Amber Kelleher-Andrews stood out as a pioneer who transformed the industry into something more personal, global, and meaningful.
Amber studied anthropology in college and also explored the fine arts, laying the groundwork for her early career in the entertainment industry. She appeared in numerous films, television series, and print advertisements.
In 1995, Amber made a pivotal decision to join her family’s matchmaking agency, Kelleher International, which was founded by her mother, Jill Kelleher, in San Francisco in 1986. Two years later, she opened the firm’s Los Angeles office and quickly became a key force behind its expansion. By 2000, she had been named CEO.
Under Amber’s leadership, Kelleher International grew into one of the world’s most prestigious matchmaking agencies. The company catered to elite clients—including celebrities, entrepreneurs, professional athletes, and royalty—through a bespoke, high-touch approach that emphasized deep personal understanding over algorithmic matching. Amber firmly believed that meaningful relationships could only be built through human connection.
Kelleher International became known for its discreet and highly personalized consultation process, setting it apart from typical digital dating platforms. In 2024, the company recorded its most successful year to date, affirming the power and relevance of Amber’s human-centered philosophy.
Beyond her role, Amber was a prominent media figure, regularly appearing as a relationship expert and public speaker. She was featured on shows such as NBC’s Today Show, ABC’s Good Morning America, and CNN, and hosted the nationally syndicated radio program The Rules of Engagement. In 2013, she was one of three featured matchmakers on NBC’s primetime reality series Ready for Love.
In 2012, she launched the philanthropic division of Kelleher International to inspire clients to pursue purpose-driven, socially responsible endeavors. In 2014, she founded Success to Significance, a charitable retreat held on Sir Richard Branson’s Necker Island. The event brought together entrepreneurs and philanthropists in support of Virgin Unite–a nonprofit foundation–where Amber would later serve as a board member.
Throughout her career, Amber received numerous prestigious awards that reflect her impact on the matchmaking industry. In 2010, she was named Top Global Matchmaker, issued by the Overseas Living Lifestyle Award. In 2013, she was recognized as the Best Matchmaker in North America, issued by European CEO Magazine. In 2021, she received The European Global Business Award, issued by The European, and later that year, she was once again honored as Top Global Matchmaker, issued by the Global Business Awards.
Amber was married for over 25 years and was a devoted mother to three children. Her passing after a battle with cancer marked the loss of a visionary leader and compassionate woman. While her absence is deeply felt by her family, friends, colleagues, and the many singles she matched, Amber’s legacy lives on through the industry she helped shape and the meaningful connections she fostered around the world.
