Global Love Report Interview
Global Love Report (GLR): What was your career before entering the matchmaking industry?
Elizabeth Tritsch (ET): Before becoming a Matchmaker, I worked in the fashion industry and was the leading Personal Stylist for J.Crew for 13 years. In college, I started my first business, Image and Fashion Consulting. I became a Dating & Relationship Coach in 2018.
GLR: Why did you decide to become a matchmaker?
ET: As a dating coach, I prepared my clients to succeed at dating and it was a natural progression to become a Matchmaker and match them up. I made my first match at the age of 19 by introducing my college best friend to the man she’s been married to for 26 years.
GLR: What are some of the things that make being a matchmaker worthwhile in your opinion?
ET: Hearing the happy stories of first dates that turn into happy, loving relationships, and getting wedding announcements is the best part – it’s why I do what I do.
GLR: What are some of the challenges that you’ve had to face? And how did you handle them?
ET: The biggest challenge is with those who have a laundry list of exterior qualities, those looking for a Prom Date instead of a LTR. I let them begin with their list and ask them how’s that been going and they’re quick to say, “Not so good.”
I help them dive deep into their long-term goals and help them see that focusing on superficial qualities only won’t get them what they want. They get to keep two deal breakers of what they want and learn that focusing on core values, similar beliefs, and the same goals will get them exactly what they want – Love. And they usually attract amazing partners easily and maintain a happy, connected relationship.
GLR: What makes you different from others in the industry?
ET: I 100% care about my clients’ happiness and use the Laws of Attraction, visualization, and manifesting to get them their ideal partner.
GLR: What do you think is your biggest strength as a Matchmaker?
ET: My biggest strength is ongoing self-development. I enroll in classes and programs and hire coaches to discover new ways to help them face dating resistance and feel that they deserve love. By helping their future pace and change their mindset, they’re able to see the overabundance of wonderful partners out there searching for them and meet them quickly and easily.
GLR: Have you collaborated with other matchmakers? How has that experience been?
ET: I’ve collaborated with other matchmakers through coaching their clients, podcasts, and interviews, helping new matchmakers see their value in what they offer, and helping them with sales calls. It’s great to help new matchmakers and see them grow into the role. I’m looking forward to collaborating with matches and doing singles events together.
GLR: Do you have any words of advice for those who are new in the industry?
ET: Know your WHY – why you do what you do, don’t be afraid to ask for help, guidance, etc, and believe in yourself. There’s no way we can match everyone, we need you and we need that special sauce that only you have. Don’t be afraid to promote yourself and charge your worth. Your knowledge, education, and time are worth a lot more than you realize.
