  • How to Build a Good Connection with Your Clients

Build a Good Connection with Clients

    Global Love Report – August 2, 2023
    Written by Margaret W

As a matchmaker, part of your success heavily relies on your ability to build good connections with your clients. Most matchmakers will try to understand what their clients want and will help them have manageable expectations.

Building a good connection can be a challenging task, but it is essential in helping clients find the perfect partner. Here are some tips on how to build a good connection with clients for matchmakers:

Make a Good First Impression Online

It’s common for clients to search for matchmakers online before meeting them, so it’s important to make a good first impression on social media. This is because clients often form snap judgments based on what they see on your online profiles. To make sure you give off the best impression, focus on improving your social media presence as a matchmaker.

    Be a Good Listener

To build a good connection with clients, you need to listen carefully to their needs and desires. This involves understanding their personality, interests, and what they are looking for in a partner. By doing so, you can find the right matches for your clients and show that they are invested in their happiness.

    Provide Honest and Transparent Feedback

To build trust with your clients, it’s crucial to be honest and transparent. If you have any reservations about a potential match, it’s best to be upfront and share your thoughts. This demonstrates that you have their best interests at heart and fosters a stronger sense of trust between you and your clients.

    Communicate Regularly

By checking in with them regularly and asking for feedback, you show that you care about their happiness. In general, communicating regularly can have an impact on building a good relationship with your clients. To foster a good connection, try asking them simple questions like, “How are you?”

    Provide Positive Support

Matchmakers have a responsibility to not only find matches but also provide emotional support and guidance throughout the matchmaking process. This is important to build a strong bond and it’s a way to show clients that their success is important to you.

Being sensitive and treating your clients with respect is also a key trait that can help you effectively provide positive support and connect with clients on a deeper level.

    Don’t Rush and Be Patient

Building relationships with clients and making matches requires trust and patience. It’s important to always be on the same page to make the relationship successful. A matchmaker knows that being slow and steady will win the matchmaking race.

Remember, building a good relationship with clients requires time and effort, so it’s important to take things slowly and steadily to ensure success.

    Maintain A Positive Attitude

Being a matchmaker comes with many responsibilities, but it’s important to maintain a positive attitude and exude confidence in your clients. Enthusiasm and zeal are attractive qualities that can make clients feel more comfortable working with you. It’s important to remember to enjoy your work and treat each client as an individual.

While your relationship with your client is professional, acknowledging them as a person can go a long way. This personal connection varies depending on industry, client type, and personality.

    Be Open!

To build good and long-lasting relationships with your clients, maintain a policy of openness, especially when it comes to your professional opinions and points of view regarding the best interests. It can be tempting to want to appear agreeable and avoid uncomfortable confrontation by telling a client what you think they want to hear or withholding your true opinion.

Those were some tips on how to build a good connection with clients for matchmakers. It’s not just about finding a match for your clients, but also about matching with your clients to build a good relationship with them!

    Heather Drury
    Heather Drury

Heather is a Director of Coaching at Love Life Academy. She is also certified as a Matchmaker and Science-Based Coach with over 13 years of experience and proven results in the dating industry.

    Love Life Academy

Global Love Report (GLR): What was your career before becoming a dating and relationship coach?

Heather Drury (HD): I began working with singles 15 years ago. Before this, I was a weight loss coach.

GLR: What made you decide to renew your coaching certification?

HD: It is important that I remain educated and certified in Science-Based Coaching. I am committed to giving meaningful and proven advice to singles.

GLR: What types of services do you offer?

HD: Our company (Love Life Academy) provides matchmaking and coaching to singles throughout the United States.

GLR: Could you tell us a little bit about which areas/locations you cover and about your client base?

HD: We offer matchmaking services to quality singles who are looking for meaningful connections. We work with singles from all walks of life- divorced, windowed, never-married, legally separated.

Our dating and relationship coaching is offered to any of our clients, who are looking to increase their chances of discovering and developing a long-term, healthy relationship. We even offer coaching to those who are entering into new relationships with their matches!

GLR: What is your favorite memory of a successful coaching client? Do you have any success stories that you wish to share with us?

HD: I will never, ever forget the client who told me I saved her life. In one of our sessions together she had an incredible, life-changing breakthrough that she credits to my coaching. I couldn’t have done this without the education obtained through my certification.

GLR: What are the lessons you have learned since you first started coaching singles vs. now?

HD: With this certification, I have gained an incredible amount of confidence and pride. This confidence and pride have had a wonderful impact on every one of my conversations, whether professional or personal.

The coaching lesson that has had the largest impact on me is learning how to stimulate profound self-discovery during a session. I’ve discovered the art of pausing during conversation to allow my clients the space to think, and then ask thought-provoking questions to further embed their personal discovery. This technique has created meaningful and lasting growth in my clients.

GLR: Do you collaborate with other industry professionals such as other coaches or matchmakers?

HD: Yes! We love to collaborate and value every industry professional we have the pleasure of working with. As they say, it takes a village!

GLR: What are your suggestions to people who are thinking of becoming a dating and relationship coach but are hesitant to start?

HD: It is important to understand why this field sparks an interest in you. Date and relationship coaching can be a highly emotional service to provide. It takes a strong amount of patience and empathy.

If you know without a shadow of a doubt that this is your future career, I would start by talking to the experts at the Global Love Institute. Dr. Orbuch has been an incredible mentor in not only coaching clients but how to building a coaching division within our teams and company.

GLR: Thank you for taking the time to answer these questions, Heather!

  • 8 Tips for Organizing and Hosting a Successful Speed Dating Event

Organizing and Hosting a Successful Speed Dating Event

    Global Love Report – August 2, 2023
    Written by Margaret W

The Unique and Popular Appeal of Speed Dating Events

A speed dating event is a fun way for singles to meet potential romantic partners and have a series of conversations within a short amount of time. At the end of the event, participants can indicate which individuals they are interested in meeting again.

Speed dating also helps alleviate any nerves for those getting back into dating. It eliminates the pressure of having to sustain a conversation with one person for an extended period.

Finding the perfect match isn’t always easy for some people, which is why speed dating is a unique way for singles to meet potential partners.

Additionally, singles feel isolated during the pandemic and want to embrace more ways to find love and connection. As singles show more interest in speed dating events, matchmakers and dating coaches may consider hosting one.

Tips for Organizing and Hosting a Successful Speed Dating Event

If you’re thinking about organizing a speed dating event, here are some tips that can help ensure your event’s success:

    Set the Theme

Determine the theme of your event to identify your target audience. You can also combine your matchmaking skills or date coaching to create a unique speed dating event theme! For example, you can create a matchmaking mechanism for the event or coach participants on how to start memorable conversations.

    Choose a Venue

Look for a venue that can accommodate the expected number of participants. This can be an open space like a park or an indoor space like a cafe, restaurant, or bar.

    Set the Date and Time

Choose a date and time that is suitable for your target audience, and avoid scheduling your event on holidays or conflicting with other major events in the area.

    Promote Your Event

To promote your speed dating event, advertise it through various channels such as social media, flyers, local newspapers, websites, or email. Ensure that your advertisement clearly states the date, time, and location of the event.

    Create a Checklist

Make a checklist of everything you will need for the event, and create the necessary rules for speed dating.

    Prepare for the Event

On the day of the event, make sure you have everything ready before the participants arrive.

    Start the Speed Dating

Explain the rules to the participants and start the speed dating rounds. Make sure each round has a time limit and participants switch partners after each round.

    Collect Feedback

After the event, ask the participants about their experience and use their feedback to improve your speed dating event in the future. Also, provide advice to singles and couples regarding dating and building relationships.

Fun and Unique Speed Dating Event Themes to Consider

    Speed Dating Theme

Here are some fun and unique speed dating ideas that you can consider:

    • Wine Tasting: Invite wine-loving singles to find partners.
    • Book Speed Dating: Make books the core topic for singles who love reading.
    • Pet Speed Dating: Combine pet dating, such as in a dog or cat cafe.
    • Painting Speed Dating: Experience painting speed dating with equipment that supports this theme.
    • Vegan Speed Dating: Add a new twist to speed dating by catering to vegans.

Themes can help attract singles with similar interests and create a more engaging and enjoyable speed dating experience. Remember, organizing and hosting a successful speed dating event takes time and effort, but the result can be a fun and satisfying experience for everyone involved.

    About Rose Lambertrose lambert

Rose Lambert is a renowned matchmaker and dating coach who helps Palm Beach singles ages 50s through 90s find love and happiness. With her experience, understanding of relationships, and commitment to personalized service, she is a great resource for elite matchmaking and dating coaching in Palm Beach County. Everlasting love connections, let’s hear her amazing story!

    Rose Lambert Website

Global Love Report (GLR): Hi Rose, thank you for taking the time to answer our questions! Could you tell us a bit about your career before you entered the matchmaking industry?

Rose Lambert (RL): I was a spiritual life coach, helping people with all kinds of issues and problems, as well as a dating coach. I helped so many people find love that those happy customers referred me to their families and friends. Through these referrals, I became a matchmaker.

GLR: Why did you decide to become a matchmaker?

RL: There was a time when all of my spiritual life coaching and dating coaching clients were asking for matchmaking. 70% of my clients were interested in matchmaking. Then I changed my website and business cards from spiritual life coaching to matchmaking and dating coaching.

GLR: Did your perception of what a matchmaker is/does change after being certified?

RL: Well, I wish I had known and started taking classes from the beginning of my matchmaking career. Because I didn’t have any professional matchmaker to teach me how to run and find clients and matches, I learned the hard way at the beginning. But joining the Matchmaking Institute and getting certified would have made it much easier for me. I wish I had done it a few years ago.

GLR: What are you looking forward to as a matchmaker?

RL: As a matchmaker and dating coach, I am looking to expand my services beyond my local Palm Beach County location.

GLR: Which cities or regions do you cover?

RL: I am in South Florida, covering Palm Beach County.

GLR: Have you met any other matchmakers? If so, how has that experience been? Are you open to collaboration in the future?

RL: Yes, I have met a few matchmakers. I’m looking forward to meeting more of them. I believe we could help each other by matching our clients.

GLR: Do you have any words of advice for people who are still considering if they want to be a matchmaker or not?

RL: Whoever wants to become a matchmaker, must love talking or helping people, understanding their needs, and desires. It’s a great career for people who want to be helpful and get pleasure out of making people happy.

Yes, it’s a great business. You can make a good living, but for me, it is the biggest satisfaction. Seeing my clients, happy to make a difference in their life, finding someone they can have a lasting relationship. I get pleasure out of helping people, and of course, I get paid for what I like to do.

I am looking forward to meeting other matchmakers and working together!

GLR: Thank you for taking the time to answer these questions, Rose!
