Karine Le Marchand, a prominent French television host known for her popular dating show “L’amour est dans le pré” (Love is in the Meadow), has recently announced her latest venture: a modern matchmaking service that embraces the concept of “slow dating.”

New Matchmaking Agency Combines Traditional Values with Modern Approach

Her new “matchmaking agency 2.0” aims to counter the rapid-fire nature of modern dating apps by encouraging meaningful, face-to-face connections. Her agency ensures that people meet in real life, cutting out the digital middleman. This approach represents a significant shift from current online dating trends, focusing on meaningful in-person interactions instead of the endless matching found in dating apps

    Privacy and Data Protection

The platform emphasizes user privacy and data protection, implementing strict protocols for personal information handling. Users maintain control over their data sharing preferences and can modify their privacy settings at any time. The service employs necessary tracking tools solely for service improvement and statistical purposes, ensuring transparency in data collection practices.

    Lifestyle Compatibility

    Global Love Report – December 18th, 2024
    Written by Margaret W

As professional matchmakers, paying attention to your client’s lifestyle compatibility is crucial for creating successful and lasting matches. This involves carefully analyzing their daily routines, social dynamics, and personal habits that shape their relationship path.

Here’s a comprehensive guide to the key factors you should consider when matching clients:

Essential Lifestyle Compatibility Factors for Successful Matchmaking

    Social Dynamics

Social dynamics helps you understand how people interact and engage with others in social settings. It encompasses:

    1. Understanding whether clients are introverted or extroverted and how they get their energy
    2. Evaluating what types of social environments they prefer and feel most comfortable in, such as large group settings versus smaller gatherings
    3. Considering how their existing social circles might blend together.

These key factors help you create more compatible matches by pairing people with similar social preferences or complementary social styles. Understanding social dynamics helps prevent potential conflicts that could arise from mismatched social needs and ensures both parties can build a comfortable relationship that fits their social preferences.

    Time Management

Time management plays a vital role in matchmaking by revealing when potential partners are available to date and how they structure their daily lives. Understanding these patterns helps you create compatible pairs who can realistically spend quality time together.

Based on the context, you should consider several key aspects of time management:

    1. Work schedule compatibility – comparing traditional 9-5 schedules with flexible hours or shift work to ensure partners have overlapping free time
    2. Personal timing preferences – understanding if someone is a morning or evening person to help plan better dates
    3. Weekend and holiday availability – evaluating how potential matches spend their free time

    Core Values and Life Priorities

Core values and life priorities fundamentally shape a person’s decisions, behaviors, and long-term goals. For matchmakers, understanding these elements is crucial as it enables them to create more meaningful and lasting matches between compatible partners.

    1. Health and wellness priorities – how individuals approach their physical and mental wellbeing
    2. Career goals and work-life balance preferences – understanding how people prioritize their professional lives and balance it with personal time
    3. Personal growth and life goals – their aspirations and vision for the future

By carefully evaluating these aspects, you can ensure that potential partners have compatible fundamental beliefs and similar life directions, which significantly increases the likelihood of a strong, sustainable relationship.

    Cultural and Religious Integration

Cultural and religious integration is a critical factor in matchmaking. Understanding and respecting these differences helps create stronger relationships where your clients can honor each other’s beliefs, share in celebrations, and make harmonious decisions about their future together. It’s important to note that even within the same religion, individuals may follow different levels of religious practices.

When evaluating cultural and religious compatibility, you should focus on these key aspects:

    1. Religious beliefs and practices – including whether someone is religious or not
    2. Cultural traditions and celebrations
    3. Dietary preferences and restrictions based on cultural or religious backgrounds

    Lifestyle Interests and Activities

Lifestyle interests and activities also play a vital role in matchmaking, as you can help create compatible connections through shared passions and preferences. When your clients have similar ways of spending their leisure time, it naturally strengthens their bond and relationship potential.

To consider this, you can take a look at three key lifestyle aspects:

    1. Hobbies and recreational activities – identifying the specific pastimes that bring joy to clients
    2. Adventure comfort levels – assessing whether clients prefer excitement or relaxation
    3. Entertainment and leisure preferences – understanding how clients choose to unwind and enjoy themselves

Creating a detailed lifestyle compatibility checklist for each client might help you identify potential matches more effectively and anticipate possible challenges. Once you’ve thoroughly analyzed these factors, you can plan thoughtful first-date experiences. Here are some strategic recommendations:

    Active Adventure Dates

    • Morning hiking followed by brunch for early risers
    • Beach walks for those who enjoy nature and conversation

    Cultural and Artistic Experiences

    • Gallery opening dates
    • Live music venues for music lovers
    • Theater performances for culture enthusiasts

    Culinary Adventures

    • Food tastings
    • Cooking classes for couples

    Relaxed Settings for Connection

    • Cozy cafés with quiet corners for deep conversation
    • Botanical gardens for peaceful walks
    • Rooftop lounges for casual drinks and city views

Remember that successful matches can emerge from both similar and different lifestyle patterns. Advise clients that open communication and mutual understanding are essential for meaningful connections.

  • Coaching Has Become a Much-Needed Addition to Modern Matchmaking

    date coaching

    Global Love Report – December 4th, 2024
    Written by Jennifer J. Hayes

In today’s dating landscape, the search for a compatible partner can feel like navigating a maze. At South Carolina Matchmakers, we’ve seen countless singles express frustration over dating, from navigating online platforms to feeling disheartened by unsuccessful dates. The rise in these challenges has made date coaching an invaluable addition to the traditional matchmaking experience.

The Changing Face of Dating and Why Guidance Matters

The dating world has shifted significantly over the past decade. Technology, social media, and dating apps have changed how people meet and form connections, but they also add complexity to the dating process. Many people struggle with presenting their authentic selves, understanding what they truly want, and learning how to build meaningful connections. As a dating coach, I guide clients in recognizing and removing these barriers, helping them become their best selves in the dating world.

    Understanding Personal Patterns and Growth

A critical aspect of date coaching is helping individuals understand their dating patterns. When singles feel they’re repeating the same mistakes or attracting incompatible partners, date coaching can offer a fresh perspective. At South Carolina Matchmakers, we work together to explore these recurring patterns and find practical steps to break them. This approach builds the foundation for self-growth, empowering clients to approach dating with confidence and authenticity.

Beyond the Checklist: Focusing on What Matters

One of the most powerful elements of date coaching is encouraging people to move beyond their “list of must-haves.” Many clients come to me with a clear checklist of qualities they want in a partner, whether it’s career success, specific physical attributes, or shared hobbies. While these traits are certainly worth considering, they don’t necessarily predict a lasting relationship. As a dating coach, I help clients look beyond this list, stretching them to identify what they genuinely need for a meaningful connection. By focusing on traits like emotional availability, shared values, and effective communication, clients discover what truly builds a foundation for a lasting, fulfilling relationship.

    Date Coaching Fosters Confidence

Confidence is the key to successful dating. When someone believes in their own worth and values, they naturally attract healthier relationships. As a dating coach, I provide a supportive space where clients can open up about their insecurities and setbacks. Together, we develop personalized strategies to build confidence and improve communication skills, which ultimately lead to more fulfilling connections.

The Unique Advantage of Combining Matchmaking with Coaching

While matchmaking connects clients with suitable partners, coaching focuses on personal growth and relationship skills, adding depth to the process. At South Carolina Matchmakers, I’ve seen firsthand how combining these two services allows clients to approach their matches with clarity, intention, and self-assurance. We’re not just finding potential partners; we’re also preparing individuals to thrive within those relationships.

Crafting Lasting Relationships in a Fast-Paced World

Date coaching is not just about getting to the next date—it’s about understanding what makes a relationship last. The guidance I provide helps clients evaluate their values, communicate effectively, and set healthy boundaries. With this solid foundation, they’re better equipped to build a lasting relationship rather than one that fades after a few months.

Moving Forward with Purpose and Clarity

The combination of matchmaking and coaching allows clients to move forward in their dating journeys with a clear sense of purpose. They understand what they need in a relationship, what they bring to the table, and how to navigate the natural challenges that arise along the way. Through my work at South Carolina Matchmakers, I’ve seen how this holistic approach transforms lives, helping clients form meaningful, lasting relationships.

Date coaching is more than advice; it’s about creating meaningful change, instilling confidence, and helping people connect authentically. At South Carolina Matchmakers, I’m proud to be part of this transformative journey for so many, helping them let go of rigid checklists to find what truly matters in a partner and a lifelong connection.

  • A Look At Different Matchmaking Events in 2024

    Matchmaking Events in 2024

    Global Love Report – November 13th, 2024
    Written by Margaret W

As the popularity of matchmaking events continues to grow globally, singles are increasingly drawn to participate in these unique opportunities to find potential partners. Currently, many dating event organizers, matchmakers, and even dating coaches are hosting matchmaking events with creative themes, such as snowboarding, farming, cooking, etc.

According to Eventbrite, a global event platform, matchmaking events, including speed dating, have seen a significant surge in popularity over the past three years. Their report shows that dating and matchmaking events in America increased by 30% from 2022 to 2023, accompanied by a 43% increase in attendance during the same period. Which is an impressive feat.

In this article, we’ll explore several unique matchmaking events that took place globally in 2024. Here’s the list:

Templestay Matchmaking Program in South Korea

The largest Buddhist sect in South Korea, the Jogye Order, has been organizing a popular Templestay matchmaking program called “Naneun Jeollo” (I Go to the Temple) through its social outreach arm, the Korean Buddhist Foundation for Social Welfare. This annual event, which has seen increasing participation since its inception in 2021, takes place at the historic Baekyangsa Temple in South Jeolla Province, established in the 6th century at Baegamsan Mountain.

The most recent two-day event, held at the end of October, brought together 12 men and 12 women carefully selected from 947 applicants. Participants engaged in various activities designed to foster connections, including cooking, tea drinking, and strolling through the temple’s scenic landscape. The program’s success was evident, with seven couples finding a match. To encourage lasting relationships, the temple’s abbot even offered small cash rewards to these newly formed couples.

With plans to continue next year, this unique matchmaking initiative demonstrates a blend of traditional Buddhist practices with modern relationship-building approaches, offering a refreshing alternative to conventional dating methods.

Pitch-a-Friend: Friendship-based Matchmaking in the US

A unique matchmaking event called “Pitch-a-Friend” is gaining popularity across the US, offering singles an innovative way to meet potential partners. Unlike traditional dating events, friends take center stage, presenting their single companions as ideal romantic matches through engaging three to five-minute presentations. These showcases feature slideshows complete with photos, animations, and charts to highlight the qualities of potential matches.

Since its inception by Melissa Schipke and Ariana Brogan in Philadelphia in 2022, Pitch-a-Friend has rapidly expanded to 33 cities worldwide. The event’s success lies in its ability to attract young people seeking alternatives to dating apps, fostering deeper connections through face-to-face interactions.

Groundbreaking HIV+ Matchmaking Event Unites Hearts Across Borders in Surat, India

In a groundbreaking display of inclusivity and hope, the Gujarat State Network of People (GSNP) organized its 13th annual matchmaking event in Surat, drawing over 600 HIV-positive individuals from diverse professional backgrounds.

This year’s event set new records, boasting the highest attendance to date and introducing an innovative international element. Thirteen participants from other countries, including Canada, Australia, and the United Arab Emirates, joined virtually, expanding the event’s reach beyond borders. The event yielded impressive results: eight marriages were arranged on-site, with an additional 50 couples expressing interest in future unions. This remarkable event not only facilitated connections but also highlighted the power of community and acceptance in overcoming societal barriers.

The Outing Festival: LGBTQ+ Matchmaking in Ireland

The LGBTQ+ matchmaking festival “The Outing” made its 11th annual return to County Clare, Ireland in February 2024. Held at the Inn at Dromoland in Newmarket-On-Fergus, the event offered a vibrant mix of entertainment including pop-up clubs, drag shows, comedy acts, live music, and interactive experiences.

Festival Director Eddie McGuinness proudly shared the event’s impressive track record, having facilitated over 100 relationships and two marriages since its inception. With its continued success, “The Outing” is set to welcome attendees again next year, further cementing its place as a unique and inclusive matchmaking festival.

    Matchmaking Event in Pakistan

In Lahore, Pakistan, a novel approach to matchmaking is emerging. Muzz, a UK-based matrimonial app, recently organized a gathering for about 100 young singles, facilitating face-to-face meetings. This event and similar initiatives like Annie’s Matchmaking Party represent a growing trend in conservative societies.

These matchmaking event blend modern technology with traditional values, creating a space where young people can meet potential partners while respecting cultural norms. By offering an alternative to both arranged marriages and dating apps, which are often stigmatized in Pakistan, these events are subtly challenging and reshaping traditional matchmaking practices in the country.

Live Comedy Dating Show in Seattle: A Unique Twist on Matchmaking

About 100 Seattle, Washington residents recently participated in a live, on-stage matchmaking event.  The Los Angeles-based comedy show “Love Isn’t Blind” made its Seattle debut on July 11 at SIFF Cinema Uptown Queen Anne, offering a unique and entertaining approach to finding love.

The event featured one bachelorette and four blindfolded bachelors, who engaged in a series of creative challenges and yes-or-no questions. These ranged from revealing their attachment styles to confirming Costco memberships, all while the host playfully checked their phones and called their mothers. What sets the event apart from other dating events is that the men weren’t allowed to speak, adding an extra layer of intrigue to the selection process.

Founded by comedian Allison Goldberg in 2022, the event aimed to foster connections beyond just the stage participants. Audience members received color-coded wristbands indicating their relationship status and sexual orientation and participated in interactive games like musical chairs to encourage mingling. The evening culminated in an after-party where “wing” men and women, complete with actual wings, assisted shyer attendees in making connections.

This innovative approach to matchmaking not only provided entertainment but also created a supportive environment for singles to meet potential partners or new friends in a fun, low-pressure setting.

These are the matchmaking events that took place in various parts of the world this year! What unique themes do you think we’ll see next year?

  • Surpasses 70,000 Matching Cases, IBJ Sets a New Record!

    IBJ Japan Matchmaking Agency

    Global Love Report – November 13th, 2024
    English summary by Margaret W

IBJ Co., Ltd., Japan’s leading matchmaking agency, has set a new record with 72,728 successful matches in October 2024. This milestone underscores the growing popularity of professional matchmaking services in Japan, where the company’s membership is approaching 100,000.

To celebrate this achievement and further expand opportunities for singles, IBJ has launched a joint campaign with BIU Co., Ltd. and Denfare Co., Ltd. also known as Ryoenkai. The promotion offers a discount of approximately ¥11,000 (approx. US$73) on membership fees, from November 18 to December 25, 2024.

IBJ’s success can be attributed to its innovative approach. The company has implemented its unique matchmaking methodology across 4,449 affiliated agencies nationwide. This extensive network, coupled with IBJ’s massive database, allows new members to be swiftly matched with potential partners. Additionally, IBJ has introduced matchmaking counselor certification courses, compiling industry best practices into comprehensive training materials to enhance the quality of support provided by matchmakers.

The “Principle of Successful Marriage”: A Unique Approach to Matchmaking

IBJ, along with BIU and Ryoenkai, advocates the “Principle of Successful Marriage,” which defines a successful match as one that leads to engagement. IBJ decided to partner with these companies because all three of them are aligned in their belief that a successful match culminates in an engagement, rather than just dating.

This approach, trademarked by IBJ in 2015, sets these companies apart by offering comprehensive support from the initial matching stage through to the proposal, unlike some competitors who only assist up to the dating phase.

This commitment to seeing couples through to engagement aligns with their “Principle of Successful Marriage” and distinguishes their services in the matchmaking industry. The joint campaign aims to promote this principle and increase successful matches across all three companies.

To engage the public, the agencies are hosting a social media campaign on their official X (formerly Twitter) accounts. Participants have the chance to win Amazon gift cards worth approximately ¥30,000 (approx. US$200) by participating in the campaign.

    Personalized Matchmaking Agency

    Global Love Report – October 23rd, 2024
    English summary by Margaret W

A new personalized matchmaking agency, Emilie B, was recently established near Lisieux, France, by Emilie Blanche. The agency caters to singles, divorcees, and widows/widowers who are looking for serious and long-term relationships.

After a decade in corporate management, Emilie decided to leave her company and launched this new venture to open a matchmaking agency.

Emilie said that the service process begins with a phone call, followed by a questionnaire to assess client intentions. Emilie then arranges face-to-face meetings lasting 1–1.5 hours. Notably, she doesn’t use photos, focusing instead on personality compatibility.

Emilie B operates within a 50–60 km radius (31-37 miles) of Lisieux, meeting clients in public spaces or their homes. Blanche emphasizes the need for privacy and plans to establish a dedicated meeting space soon.

The agency offers three packages: a “three-meeting” option, and six-month and twelve-month coaching plans. The longer subscriptions provide more intensive support and multiple meetings.

Emilie’s approach prioritizes genuine connections over impersonal virtual meetings. She recognizes that prolonged singlehood can mask underlying loneliness and aims to help clients find meaningful companionship.

Her current focus is on building an extensive database of profiles to offer clients a wide range of potential matches. Future plans include organizing events such as dance parties, game nights, and hikes to foster connections among members in the picturesque Normandy region.

  • Why Indonesian Women Turn to Matchmaking Services to Find Their Loved Ones

    Global Love Report – October 16th, 2024
    English summary by Margaret W

In Indonesia, matchmaking services have become a popular resource for many seeking help in finding a life partner. Indonesia’s leading news portal, Kompas.com, recently interviewed matchmaker Rastrianez, who is certified by the Global Love Institute. She shared some interesting insights regarding matchmaking in Indonesia. According to Rastrianez, women are most likely to use matchmaking services to find their partners.

She explains that this is because women tend to be more eager to find a life partner compared to men. Women generally want to marry sooner, while men often prefer to focus on their careers first. Before turning to professional matchmakers, many women have tried to find partners on their own, including through dating apps. However, when they don’t find the person they’re looking for, they turn to professional matchmakers.

“So they seek a better alternative by coming to me, hoping to find higher quality matches because they’ve been filtered,” Rastrianez explained.

This observation aligns with her client data, where the average age of female clients ranges from 27 to 35 years old, compared to male clients who are typically between 30 and 40 years old.

Several factors contribute to women’s desire to marry earlier than men in Indonesia. Societal stigma plays a significant role, as unmarried women often face negative perceptions. Furthermore, biological concerns come into play, with women being more aware of their limited fertility window compared to men, who can typically remain fertile into later years.
