Anne Day

Anne is a newly certified Matchmaker and owner of African Singles in America. She was born and raised in Kenya, East Africa.

Prior to entering the Matchmaking Industry, she owned and Branding and Events Company called Real Touch Ventures. She has a passion for helping and connecting people.

Global Love Report (GLR): Hi Anne! What was your career before entering the matchmaking industry?

Anne Day (AD): I used to have my own Branding and Events Company named Real Touch Ventures. I started implementing matchmaking from 2008, while offering corporate events through my company.

GLR: Why did you decide to become a matchmaker?

AD:  I am an only child so I never had the chance to interact with siblings, unlike other people. So, when I started to make friends, I found myself wanting to connect—not just on love but on other aspects of life. If someone approaches me asking for any kind of help, I will do so. People in my community have even nicknamed me Anne Connector.

GLR: Did your perception of what a matchmaker does change after being certified?

AD: Not really, because this is something I’ve been doing for years. I’ve been offering matchmaking as a service for free. But after exploring different services and—and classes—it has opened my eyes that I should do this on a professional level. Connecting people and getting paid for my work.

GLR: What are you looking forward to as a matchmaker?

AD: To perfecting my matchmaking services and becoming a professional [matchmaker].

GLR: And what have you been doing lately as a newly certified matchmaker?

AD:

GLR: Which States do you cover?

AD: I’m based in Seattle, Washington but I cover all States. I’m trying to meet all African singles living in America.

GLR: Do you have any words of advice for people who are still considering if they want to be a matchmaker or not?

AD: My advice is: before you enter this business, have a passion and drive for connecting people.

GLR: Thank you for your time, Anne!
